Children’s dance

In these groups the children are 4–6-year-olds

The youngest will also have their fourth birthday by the end of the calendar year. Children’s dance is full of wonder and new bite-sized experiences from the world of dance. The children will learn from examples, by dancing themselves, and by creating and exploring new ways of movement. It’s no surprise that also working in a group, taking others into consideration will also become more familiar to them as their dance classes continue.

We’re always looking to build up positive self-image and ways of self expression for the children.

The most important elements of teaching children’s dance are joy, playfulness, creative practices and imagination. During dance classes the children learn e.g. jumps, balance, spinning and other basic movements. They learn about what their own bodies can do; they learn naming body parts, control, mobility, and these practices are beneficial for a multitude of future hobbies and activities.

We will be making small choreographies during the classes; they are a good way to train memory, and the basics of dance technique.

4 to 6 year-olds have a single 45-minute dance class every week.

Below you will find our schedules. Our main location in Linnoitus, Lappeenranta, has a variety of groups for children. The way to read our schedule is, that the numbering after the groups’ name means the ages of children attending that specific group.

Also our remote locations Joutseno, Ruoholampi, Pontus and Taavetti have these age-numbered groups of children’s dance. Welcome!
