BALLET, CLASSES 1-3
(10-12-year-olds)
Dance lesson exercises for all ballet students include center floor exercises and exercises at the barre. Pointe shoes are practiced at the end of ballet lessons, not for the whole duration of the class. The students will learn turnout; turnout is one of the defining characteristics of classical ballet after all. Also their jump- and pirouettetechnique will start to strengthen, along with their overall balance.
A key part of classical ballet classes are related to getting ready to perform small choreographies. The ballet students’ attention to detail, posture, courage and the ability to express with their dancing are sure to strengthen as well.
Ballet 1. class has two 75-minute dance classes each week.
Ballet 2. class has two 90-minute dance classes each week.
Ballet 3. class has three 90-minute dance classes each week.
BALLET, CLASSES 4-7
In the upper classes of classical ballet the students have already gained a good understanding of the importance of focus and perseverance. The development of their jumping-, pirouette-, and pointe shoe techniques continues.
Repertoire exercises become a weekly part of the dance class routines. During these, the group and individuals practise especially detailed parts of their performances. Some ballet classes put more focus into getting the student familiar with watching and analyzing ballet performances; to train their eye for dance. With this, students also become more able to recognize and emphasize their own strengths.
Enrollment for new students in selected groups opens again in January 2025.
