Commercial dance (12- to 16-year-olds)

Commercial Dance is -just like the name states- focused on commercial expressions. It’s quite common to spot commercial dance being utilized in music festivals, carnivals, movies and music videos. Commercial dance is a combination of multiple different dance styles, and it is highly dependant on the teacher, which styles get more emphasis. For example, commercial dance in Lappeenranta Dance Institute combines elements from hip hop, contemporary dance, and showdance. 

The music for commercial dance classes is usually something from the top charts and from globally known artists. 

Key focus points in learning commercial dance are to do with courage, learning to trust yourself and your own movement, and developing your own artistic dancing expression. Visually engaging and immersive choreographies demand the students to show attitude, sense of rhythm, and even facial expressions.

A new dance class for Spring 2026: Commercial dance 2 is beginning! This group is meant for over 13-year-olds, and anyone is welcomed to join, without previous dancing experience – let’s start building it up! We’re starting off very beginner-friendly, so this dance group is perfect for any young teen, who wishes to start dancing! This class is the best way to kick the weekend off on Saturday afternoons. You’re warmly welcomed!
