General info:
The supplies needed in our dance classes are generally ordered through the Dance Institute. For example the class attire. Dancing supplies are not included in the semester fees, they are billed separately. If the student wishes to buy second-hand attires, they may for example do so via our Facebook flea market -group.
Long hair should be tied during all dance classes. For ballet-classes you should have your hair in a bun/topknot. For children, either ponytail, pigtails or braided hair is very okay.
You should not have candy, gum, jewellery of wristwatches with you during dance classes.
Children´s dance:
Girls: short-sleeved dance attire with a bit of tulle skirt
* 4-5 -year-olds: pink (also for all satellite locations)
* 5-6 -year-olds: white
– white leggings
– bare feet (for safety)
Girls can also choose to wear black shorts + T-shirt; we recommend La Pirouette Two-in-One shorts, product number PS-2525 on Piruetti web shop.
Boys: black shorts and a T-shirt (shorts are available e.g. Piruetti -web shop, product number PS-2525).
The basics of dance:
Girls: Dance attire per year / group number:
1. class: bright blue dance attire, (also for remote locations Pontus and Lappee)
2. class: fuchsia dance attire (also for remote locations Taavetti and Joutseno)
3. class: dark blue dance attire
– skin-colored ballet tights
– soft ballet slippers (except for some satellite locations with a different flooring material – wait for information from your own teacher)

Ballet: Classes 1. – 7. and Teen ballet
– Dance attires (There is some uncertainty about the shop, where ballet attire will be ordered. There might be some change in fabrik or style due to this):
1. class: Light purple
2. class: Purple
3. class and up: Black
Teen ballet 1: Dark purple
Teen ballet 2: Black

– Pointe shoes are only for advanced classes (does not include Teen ballet)

Contemporary dance, jazz dance, showjazz, and adult groups:
– Showjazz-groups use: black dancing leggins’
– Contemporary & jazz dance groups use: black sports trousers
– dance leotard or fitted top/shirt
– either bare feet, socks or jazzshoes. For ballet you’ll need soft ballet slippers.
– Book: Tanssioppilaan kirja (for extended syllabus’ -students)
Breakdance:
– T-shirt with either short or long sleeves
– comfortable sports trousers
– indoor sneakers
– beanie
Willipojat and Willimiehet: (Boys; ages 5 to 9)
– T-shirt with either short or long sleeves
– shorts, or comfortable sports trousers
– bare feet, or indoor sneakers
Character dance:
– For boys: white fitted T-shirt and black trousers
– For girls: ballet attire and skin-colored tights
– All: character shoes
Street dance and Commercial dance:
– relaxed fit
– indoor sneakers
ALL ITEMS OF CLOTHING SHOULD HAVE THE STUDENTS NAME WRITTEN ON IT!
