HOBBY SUPPORT FROM THE CITY OF LAPPEENRANTA
Hobby support (monetary aid) is for the Autumn semester of 2024. The criteria for applying for this hobby support are as follows:
1. You must live in Lappeenranta, and be under 18-years of age.
2. You must be a continuing or new member in a hobby group/ sports club/ registered society which has a deal regarding the hobby support with the city.
3. The hobby support can be granted for one hobby at a time, and only for it’s basic costs per child per year. Hobby is seen as something that has regular training sessions either weekly or periodically.
4. The hobby support can be granted by semester fees, or monthly fees, or season fees – whichever are most realistically calculated.
5. The hobby support can be a maximum of 50 € in a month per child, while also a maximum of 600 € in a year per child (In the Dance Institute this means 300 € per semester).
6. When assessing the applicants qualifications for this monetary aid, the general income limits for “low income” are used.
7. If the general income limit isn’t low for the applicant, they may rationalize applying for the hobby support because of loss of job, single parenthood, or other financial challenges.
(Translation of the criteria is made by the Dance Institution. If there is any confusion, please check original criteria by the City of Lappeenranta, which are in Finnish.)
LAPPEENRANTA DANCE INSTITUTE ALSO OFFERS PARTIAL AND FULL EXEMPTIONS OF THE STUDENT FEES – a few each year
- Lappeenranta Dance Institute rewards a few of its motivated and enthusiastic students by granting them exemptions of student fees. Students may apply for these exemptions at the beginning of the Autumn semesters.
- When you are granted an exemption of student fees, it usually means for both Autumn, and Spring semester of that year.
- All students of the Dance Institute can apply for this, your hometown/address doesn’t matter. This grant is an option to children and teenagers/young adults.
- The two kinds of student fee exemptions are: a full exemption (which means the full semester fee) and partial exemption (which means that your semester fee is -50 %).
