Jazz dance is a genre that was developed within the Afroamerican culture. Key elements of jazz dance include different isolation-techniques, the separation of individual movements, rhythmic expression and dynamicity.
On top of African influence, this diverse and energetic dance genre includes influences from contemporary dance, ballet, and musical theatre.
It is never too late to be a new beginner dance-student; we take into account the possible restrictions and limits of the adult body, when getting familiar with new dance techniques. In addition to technique training, these classes include fitness exercises related to building body elasticity, strength, and relaxation exercises.
A whole choreography will be combined using the smaller arrangements practiced during the Autumn and Spring semesters.
The duration of jazz dance classes for adults are 75 minutes.
Enrollment for new students is open. Spring semester begins on January 7th, 2025.
